Meezan Bank iPhone 16 Installment Plan
Meezan Bank offers an interest-free plan that covers the iPhone 16 range: the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. It is described as Shariah-compliant, which is why many buyers who avoid interest choose it. Our bank discounts page tracks this kind of offer.
- Down payment: as low as Rs. 20,000, or 5% of the device cost
- Monthly installment: as low as Rs. 20,876 for the iPhone 16 (256GB)
- Tenures: 3, 6, 12, 18 or 24 months
- Structure: interest-free, with no hidden charges mentioned in the announcement
The announcement does not publish the full device price, so work out the total yourself: down payment plus monthly installment multiplied by the number of months. If the total is higher than the cash price at a reputable shop, the difference is what the plan costs you.
Bank Alfalah iPhone 16 Plans
Bank Alfalah announced iPhone 16 installment plans for existing credit cardholders in June 2025, as reported by Bloom Pakistan. The plans cover the iPhone 16, Plus, Pro and Pro Max.
- 3, 6, 9 and 12 months: 0% interest
- 18, 24 and 36 months: 2.5% annual markup
- All plans: a one-time processing fee, with the amount not stated in the announcement
- Example at launch: from Rs. 26,467 a month for 12 months on an iPhone 16 (128GB), and from Rs. 60,889 a month on the iPhone 16 Pro Max (512GB)
- How to apply: through the bank’s helpline at 021-111-225-111, a campaign QR code or its WhatsApp channel
The offer was described as limited time and dependent on stock, with no end date given. Those example amounts are from 2025, so today’s figures may differ.
Standard Chartered iPhone 16 Plan
ProPakistani reported in May 2025 that Standard Chartered offered 0% markup on tenures up to 12 months for its credit card holders. A one-time, non-refundable processing fee applied: 1% for 3 months, 3.5% for 6 months and 8.5% for 12 months. Orders were placed by calling the bank, were subject to stock, and approval depended on creditworthiness. The bank could change or withdraw the offer without notice.
This is a good example of why a 0% markup plan is not always free. The 12-month plan cost 8.5% up front in fees, which is a real cost even though no interest was charged.
Bank of Punjab Plan and Its Deadline
TechJuice reported in February 2025 that Bank of Punjab offered 0% markup and no processing fees for 3, 6 and 12 months, but only for customers who applied for a BOP credit card before 31 March 2025. That window has closed. If you want a similar deal now, ask BOP whether a current offer exists on 111-267-200 or at bop.com.pk.
Alfa Mall and Buy Now Pay Later Options
Alfa Mall is Bank Alfalah’s e-commerce platform. Daily Pakistan (22 November 2025) and The Express Tribune (22 October 2025) reported plans from 3 to 36 months, with 0% markup on the shorter terms and about 2.5% markup on longer ones, plus processing fees. Eligibility depended on your Bank Alfalah credit card limit.
The Tribune article described the process this way: enter the phone’s IMEI, name and CNIC on the Alfa Mall site, choose Buy Now, Pay Later and select a plan at checkout. Its example, for a PTA tax payment on a newer iPhone, showed monthly payments from Rs. 10,825 to Rs. 75,966 depending on tenure. That was for tax, not for the phone itself, but it shows how longer tenures lower the monthly figure while raising the total.
QisstPay, Daraz and official resellers also advertise installments from time to time. We could not verify their current iPhone 16 terms, so check each seller’s checkout page and read the markup, fees and total payable before you confirm.
How PTA Tax Affects Your iPhone Installment
An iPhone that is not PTA approved needs its IMEI registered and its tax paid before it works on Pakistani networks. A phone sold as PTA approved already has this done, and the shop price includes it. When you buy an unlocked phone from abroad, you pay the tax separately.
The steps, based on Mega.pk’s February 2026 guide, are:
- Register the IMEI through the PTA Device Registration System at dirbs.pta.gov.pk/drs, by USSD, or at a service centre.
- Receive a Payment Slip ID, valid for 7 days, after manufacturer verification, which typically takes 24 to 48 hours.
- Pay at a commercial bank using the slip ID.
- Wait for the IMEI to be whitelisted, typically within a few hours, then restart the phone.
Mega.pk lists indicative CNIC tax figures for the iPhone 17 range of roughly Rs. 154,000 for the iPhone 17 up to about Rs. 213,000 for the Pro Max, and notes that the exact amount is generated by the PTA system at registration. It gives no iPhone 16 tax figure, so use the PTA site for the exact amount on your device.
iPhone 16 or a Newer iPhone?
The iPhone 17 series is now on the market and PTA tax estimates for it are widely published, which means newer models are also being offered on installment plans, including plans just for the tax. The iPhone 16 can still be a sensible buy if a shop or bank is offering a good installment rate, because older models usually carry lower tax and shop prices. Compare the total cost of both, not just the monthly figure.
How to Compare Installment Plans Properly
- Ask for the cash price and the total payable under the plan, in writing.
- Add the processing fee, which is often a percentage of the phone price paid once.
- Check whether 0% markup applies to every tenure or only the short ones.
- Find out the late payment charge and the early settlement rule.
- Confirm whether the phone is PTA approved and sold with a warranty. One Alfa Mall offer, for example, advertised a 2-year warranty.
- Check whether the plan is only for existing cardholders of that bank.
Documents You Usually Need
Requirements vary, but most credit card based plans ask for your CNIC, an active credit card with enough available limit, and sometimes recent salary or bank statements. Alfa Mall asked for the IMEI, name and CNIC. For a Meezan plan, ask the bank which documents it needs, as the announcement did not list them. Never share your card PIN or OTP with anyone, including a person claiming to be from a shop.
A Simple Example of Checking the Real Cost
Suppose a shop quotes a cash price and a bank offers a 12-month plan at 0% markup with a processing fee. Multiply the monthly installment by 12, add the down payment if there is one, then add the fee. Compare that total with the cash price. If the gap is small, the plan is a convenient way to spread payments. If the gap is large, you may be better off saving for a few months or choosing a shorter tenure. Do the same sum for every plan you consider, because banks present the monthly figure first and the fee last.
Also think about your credit limit. A large installment purchase uses up part of your card limit until it is fully paid, which may leave less room for everyday spending. Ask the bank whether the full phone price is blocked on your card at the start.
